W: Note that all students participating will need to have a 30 min learning & reading review completed before entering the program. This is mandatory to establish goals and ensure programming will meet the needs of your child. The review is a part of the program fee.

  • Wednesday July 22nd 4:00 pm – 7:30 pm
  • Wednesday July 29th – 4:00 pm – 7:30 pm
  • Wednesday August 5th – 4:00 pm – 7:30 pm

Description: This interactive summer camp was designed to engage young learners through hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and social activities while expanding their skills in language and literacy. With the recent COVID-19 impact on your child’s schedule, education, and social interaction, this camp will help re-establish a routine of structured learning to prepare your child for their upcoming return to school. Lead by a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist and Elementary School Educator, this program will focus on building independence in reading, writing, and language, while building their imagination and creativity on topics of the environment, space, weather, and much more!

 

Areas that will be covered:

  • A new theme each session with specific vocabulary, reading and writing activities, and take-home materials.
  • Snack and socialization breaks.
  • Explicit instruction on reading, reading comprehension, writing, and other aspects of language.

Objectives:

By the end of this camp, your student will be able to:

  • Complete a basic science experiment with minimal prompting,
  • Learn camp members names and be able to recall 2-3 things about them (friendship files),
  • Improve creative writing and visualization skills,
  • Improve ability to follow written and verbal directions, and
